A case of alleged rape of a girl by six youths has come to light in Gumla district of Jharkhand. The police gave this information on Tuesday. The victim girl had come here to attend a wedding. There she went away from the venue to defecate with three other girls.
During this time the accused boys attacked the girls. Police said that except the victim, the rest of the girls managed to escape. The boys took her to a nearby forest and allegedly raped her. They said that after the rape, the accused left the girl there to die and fled.
The girl told about the incident to her family after which her father lodged a police complaint. The incident took place on Friday and by Monday, the police had arrested all the six accused involved in the crime, said Sursang police station in-charge Mukesh Tudu.
“Acting swiftly, a team was formed and all the accused aged between 18 and 24 years were arrested from different places,” he said. The court has sent them to judicial custody, he said. He claimed that the girl was medically examined and the accused confessed to their crime. Further action is being taken in the case.
