Kia Carens Clavis Price & Features:
South Korean car manufacturer Kia has introduced the new premium version of its famous multi-purpose vehicle Kia Carens in the Indian market on 8 May. The company has made the global debut of this new car and named it ‘Kia Carens Clavis’. Today Kia has officially announced the prices of this MPV. Equipped with attractive looks, advanced features and amazing safety technology, the starting price of this car is Rs 11.50 lakh which goes up to Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant.

Booking of Kia Carens Clavis has been started from 9th May 2025. It can be booked through the company’s official website and authorized dealerships. Kia India MD and CEO Guanggu Lee said, “The name Clavis is derived from the Latin phrase Clavis Aurea, which means “Golden Key”.
Variants of Carens Clavis:
The company is offering Kia Carens Clavis in a total of 7 variants with petrol and diesel engines. These include HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+ (O), HTX and HTX Plus. This car, which is basically based on Carens, has been changed a lot in its cabin etc. to give it a more premium appeal.
How is the new Carens Clavis?
As far as looks and design are concerned, Kia Carens Clavis is quite similar to the current Carens. However, the company has made some cosmetic changes in its exterior and given it a fresh look. To present this car as an upmarket MPV, it has been given a new version of ‘Digital Tiger Face’. Which looks like the company’s flagship electric car model EV9. Also thin LED daytime running lights (DRLs) which form a triangular shape for the LED headlights.
Look and design of Carens Clavis:
The design of the front and rear bumper looks sharper. Ice-cube style LED lights have been provided in the front which improve its front look. Apart from this, the silver bash plate adds some contrast to the look of the car. There has been no change in the silhouette of Carens. At the same time, the same connected LED light bar has been provided in the rear.
The company is offering Carens Clavis with many different engine options as well as automatic and the company’s famous IMT transmission. However, to improve the side profile of the car, it gets newly designed dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels.
The company is offering Kia Carens Clavis with a total of 8 exterior color options. These include Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl and Clear White color. Ivory Silver Gloss color has been introduced to give a more premium feel.
Regarding Carens Clavis, the company claims that it performs like an SUV in MPV design. It has enough space for a big family to travel. The person sitting on its rear i.e. third row seat will get enough legroom. Apart from this, the second row seat can be easily tumble-down folded. For this you just need to press a button.
Features of Kia Carens Clavis:
The biggest change compared to Carens is at the front, as the Clavis gets the 22.62-inch dual-screen set-up seen on the Seltos, which comes with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Carens Clavis also gets newly designed AC vents and controls for auto AC. Apart from this, it has a flat-bottom steering wheel. You also get to see a similar steering wheel in the Syros.
The range-topping Carens Clavis variant gets a 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, the aforementioned 10.25-inch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, connected car technology with some remote functions and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety is strong:
Kia is already offering 6 airbags as standard in its cars. This car has been given better safety features. Its top-spec trim also gets a 360-degree camera and a level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite that comes with functions like adaptive cruise control, front collision assist, lane keep assist and more.
Kia Carens Clavis engine options:
Unlike the current Carens on which it is based, the Clavis gets an additional engine and gearbox option. The car comes with a 115hp 1.5-litre petrol with a 6-speed manual, a 160hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 116hp 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Carens Clavis is also offered with a 160hp turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission option. This means customers will have multiple choices in choosing engine and transmission options.
How much mileage does the car give:
This car is coming in 3 different engine options. Which includes 1.5-liter petrol, 1.5-liter turbo petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engine. Its 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine variant will give mileage of up to 15.95 km / liter and 7-speed DCT variant will give mileage of up to 16.66 km / liter. Talking about the diesel engine, 1.5-liter diesel will give mileage of 19.54 km / liter and its automatic variant will give mileage of up to 17.50 km / liter.
